Ottawa Phoenix House is a trauma-informed non-profit organization, dedicated to supporting survivors of narcissistic abuse, coercive control, and psychological trauma. Our mission is to provide validation, accessible evidence-informed, and person-centered supports that foster safety, empowerment, and long-term recovery. Through counselling, peer support, and education, we aim to restore self-agency, promote emotional resilience, and assist survivors in rebuilding their lives free from the impacts of manipulation and control.
Meet the Team

Oriana Orr
Founder - D.S.W, Facilitator / Peer Support/Community Liaison
(The Bleeding Heart of the Organization)
The bleeding heart is the pulse of Ottawa Phoenix House — the voice of empathy, shared experience, and emotional connection. As a Facilitator and Peer Support Community Liaison, Oriana leads healing groups, provides direct emotional support, and models vulnerability as strength. Her lived experience allows participants to feel understood and validated as they rebuild their self-worth. The Bleeding Heart connects the head and the heart of the organization, reminding every survivor that compassion is not weakness — it is courage in motion.

Kelly Mayhew
Co-Founder - T.A.C./C.S.W.
(The Mother Hen of the Organization)
As the Trauma and Addiction Counsellor, Kelly provides therapeutic guidance, emotional safety, and nurturing leadership to participants and staff alike. This role is central to the healing mission of Ottawa Phoenix House, offering trauma-informed counselling and addiction recovery support to individuals navigating the aftermath of narcissistic abuse, coercive control, and complex trauma. Acting as both a protector and mentor, the Counsellor ensures each individual feels seen, valued, and capable of reclaiming their life beyond survival.
